Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says David Jones’ South African owner, Woolworths Holdings, was today “putting out spot fires” after reports that it has “engaged investment banks to negotiate the sale” of the 194-year-old retailer.
“But the question follows the company around.
Only a month ago, when releasing half-year results, Woolworths CEO Roy Bagattini in South Africa was asked if management is considering selling the asset,” he said.
