Women’s participation in labour force still low, says PM
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob says though the enrolment rate of girls and women in all levels of education is high, female participation in the labour market is low. – Facebook pic, August 25, 2022.
“This rate is low compared with other Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore with 69.7% and Thailand, 66.8%. Elaborating, he said several initiatives have been implemented, including the TekunNita programme under the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund involving an allocation of RM19.9 million for 2022, which has benefited 1,264 female entrepreneurs so far.
