PETALING JAYA: Organisers of the International Women’s Day March will be called up to have their statements recorded, says Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police said any party that failed to inform the OCPD that they are organising a gathering or a demonstration has committed an offence under Section 9 of the Peaceful Assembly Act .
If the OCPD is informed of such gathering, then the police can assist in facilitating their movements, so that traffic will not be disrupted. It was reported that the organisers of the International Women’s Day March have defended the event as being about the fight for equal rights amid criticisms that it had LGBT participants.
