A second person has died in Queensland amid the bushfires ravaging the state, which have forced hundreds of residents to flee their homes. It is understood the woman suffered a cardiac arrest during an attempt to evacuate her home in Tara on Tuesday.
Deadly fires rip through Queensland. “It is believed the woman, in her 70s, suffered a medical episode. This sudden death is not being treated as suspicious, and is not due to fire,” Queensland Police said. The charred remains of an adult, believed to be a missing male, were also located on Tuesday near a dam in Tara. More than 60 fires across Queensland have ripped through more than 11,000ha of land and destroyed at least five houses.
