Superintendent Carlene Mahoney has confirmed the 28-year-old woman found dead inside an apartment in Penrith was in a 'intimate' relationship with the man arrested overnight.
NSW Police raced to the scene on Colless Street at about 4.15pm after another woman, a relative of the alleged killer, informed officers she had located Dayna's body.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Superintendent Carlene Mahoney confirmed the man and woman were in a"intimate" relationship. Dayna's vehicle was also found"burnt-out" in bushland at Castlereagh near Post Office Road, about 13 kilometres from the Penrith unit.
