A Victorian woman has died in a multi-car collision, the morning after police highlighted the state's alarmingly high road-related fatalities are “so avoidable”.
Victoria Police confirmed a truck and four cars collided into each other as they approached the Bona Vista Road exit at about 8:40am on Monday.
The female driver of one car was air-lifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital with life threatening injuries.The teenager in the back of the car was rushed to hospital after being seriously injured.Paramedics assessed passengers in all four cars, with three other people taken to Warragul Hospital.The unidentified woman is the ninth person to have died from five incidents on Victorian roads in the last week.
It is believed a truck and four cars were involved in a collision on the Princes Freeway about 8.40am.
