About 12 hours after neighbors first heard gunshots, family members late Sunday found a woman fatally shot and her car missing from a northwest Houston apartment complex, police said.
Officers as of Monday morning were searching for more information about what could have led to the woman’s death, Lt. J.P. Horelica, of the Houston Police Department, told On Scene reporters. Detectives had not yet identified a suspect or motive for the shooting.Police around 8:30 p.m. Sunday responded to an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Afton Street, north of Interstate 10, in northwest Houston after a call about a person down, Horelica said.
Neighbors said they heard gunshots around 8 a.m., Horelica said. And family members had spent most of the day trying to text and call the woman before one family member came and entered the apartment where they saw her and called police.
