Authorities are warning people about the dangers of taking selfies after a woman fell 50m down a cliff face at a popular tourist spot while trying to take the perfect photo.
Police and emergency services successfully rescued the 22-year-old woman after she fell down a cliff face in Cape Woolamai on Phillip Island in Victoria about noon on Saturday.
The woman was winched to safety by air ambulance and flown to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne with non-fatal but serious injuries. It comes months after a 24-year-old man died after falling down a cliff face at Cape Schanck on Mornington Peninsula in January. People are being urged to stick to the walking tracks when taking photos on Phillip Island. Picture: Instagram
