A woman and a child have died in a crash involving a car and a cement truck about an hour south-west of the Sydney CBD.
NSW Police confirmed a child and a female driver died at the scene, while the helicopter was deployed to help another child injured in the crash.
"The female driver and a child died at the scene. A Toll helicopter landed a medical team nearby and is assisting NSW Ambulance paramedics treating a second child." The injured child had been trapped inside the vehicle before he was airlifted to Westmead Children's Hospital in a critical condition. “This was a challenging scene for our paramedics to attend, with two patients deceased and another young child who was trapped in the vehicle," superintendent Gibbs said.
