Battling it out and winning against Spider-Man in the initial chapter of this event, Wolverine was the first recruit for Agatha’s team of chaos, eventually giving way to Venom’s win against Deadpool, setting up a situation that both might not be able to overcome easily. Also infesting the X-Men’s Storm, The Fantastic Four’s Human Torch, Taegukgi, and White Fox with her insidious magic, Agatha Harkness deciding to transform Wolverine and Venom into similarly tainted heroes complete with hardcore redesigns might spell doom for everyone involved before this event is over.
Looking a bit more demonic than usual, Wolverine is given a unique purple costume that takes cues from his traditional design, with more prominent shoulder pads, batwing-like mask fins, and an armored-looking chest plate completing his new look. Meanwhile, Venom sticks to his black and gooey symbiote design, with a slew of thorny protrusions sticking out from his body and an unhinged jaw that his slimy tongue disgustingly unfurls from.
So while it remains to be seen what kind of story and power developments these costumes will bring about, this “Contest of Chaos” arc is shaping up to be something fans need to pay attention to, especially if they love redesigns that make their favorite characters look more badass than ever.
