Nigerian music sensation Wizkid has announced the title of his next album, “Morayo,” and also renounced being an Afrobeats artist.
In a series of posts made on his Instagram stories, he said, “Album done! see you soon b*tches! Album name ‘Morayo” best I ever made!”discography; it holds a profound personal significance as it is dedicated to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.seems to be distancing himself from the Afrobeats genre, a style that has been synonymous with his name for years.
However, with “Morayo,” he challenges his fans to embrace the evolution of his music, stating, “Don’t call me an Afrobeats artiste. I’m not Afro anything”.began his music career at age 11.
