The two still cling to hope that their husbands are alive and will be returned to them.
Norhayati Mohd Ariffin and Susanna Liew, the wives of Amri Che Mat and Raymond Koh, after Suhakam announced its findings today. With them are their children Amirah Che Mat, Esther Koh and Jonathan Koh.
Amri’s wife Norhayati Mohd Ariffin said she was relieved at the findings announced by the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia , confirming what she had been told by a police informant last year.“That’s what I want to ask, even though now we know that Suhakam had named Bukit Aman’s Special Branch as the party involved. Will they be returned to us?” Norhayati told reporters today after attending the final panel inquiry into Amri and Koh’s disappearances.
“We are always thinking of the worst. Was he tortured? What happened? I just want to know,” she told FMT.“We want justice and truth to be revealed because until today, we don’t know what actually happened to our husbands and why they were taken,” she said. “If nothing is done, then we won’t have any choice. This would force us to maybe take a civil suit against the Special Branch or individuals involved,” she said.
