KUALA LUMPUR: The prosecution will prove that Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor received RM2mil from Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Chai Kin Kong.
They intend to also prove that he did this with the knowledge that the company's activities were linked to his post as the then Federal Territories minister, says deputy public prosecutor Julia Ibrahim in her opening statement at Tengku Adnan's bribery trial on Tuesday .
Julia also told the court that Chai personally handed a proposal on developing a 4.05-acre site in Bandar Tun Razak to Tengku Adnan on Jan 27, 2015. Khairolrony, who was the second witness of the day, said that the RM2mil was deposited through a cheque issued by Hong Leong Islamic Bank on behalf of Aset Kayamas.
