As trash and complaints continue to pile up following the botched rollout of a, one Dallas City Council member has decided to take matters into his own hands by hiring a private service to haul garbage away from his constituents most in need.
The pickup will be paid for using West’s officeholder funds. When the council member receives campaign contributions, he can only use up to $1,000 per donation for campaign purposes, West explained, and any extra money must go into a separate pot. Dallas City Council member Chad West, standing on Zang Boulevard in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, represents District 1.
The new schedule, which went into effect Dec. 5, means more than half of Dallas residents are getting their trash picked up on new days. Officialswith pickups being late or missing entire streets as the new schedule is implemented.
