His toe still isn’t 100 percent, but the Yankees say the healing process has gone so well that Judge probably will be able to avoid offseason surgery. The Yankees’ plan was to ease Judge back into regular duties upon his return, but after not starting two of his first five games back, he was in the lineup for 45 of 46 heading into Tuesday, including 22 in a row.
“The importance of that mindset of being ready to post day in and day out, it matters big time to Aaron, and he definitely wants to set that example. I think it’s a great one to set for our younger players.”
