Pihak konsul juga sedang meyempurnakan urusan supaya jenazah mangsa dibawa pulang ke tanah air dengan seberapa segera

Menurut Wisma Putra, Konsul Jeneral Malaysia ke Davao City telah dihantar ke Zamboanga sejak 5 April lalu bagi memantau keadaan mangsa di samping menghulurkan bantuan yang sewajarnya kepada keluarga mangsa.

“Jenazah mangsa dijadual diterbangkan pulang ke Malaysia esok dan dijangka tiba di Lapangan Terbang Sandakan pada pukul 7.45 pagi Jumaat,” jelasnya dalam satu kenyataan di sini hari ini. “Kementerian Luar juga ingin merakamkan ucapan takziah dan simpati kepada keluarga dan kenalan mangsa di atas pemergiannya,” jelasnya.

Penculik itu kemudiannya melarikan mangsa ke Selatan Filipina dan meminta wang tebusan sebanyak RM4 juta bagi setiap seorang.
