PUTRAJAYA, Feb 14 — The Malaysian government has established a special team to get a real picture and make an assessment regarding the form of humanitarian aid needed in Syria, which was also hit by the earthquake disaster.
According to the statement, the establishment of the team was a follow-up to the discussion held between the Secretariat for the distribution of humanitarian aid to Syria, managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Syrian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, on Monday. The first earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, struck at 4.17am and was centred in the Pazarcik district of Kahramanmaras province. Less than 12 hours later, a magnitude 7.6 quake hit the same area.
