People from New York City to Maine were awakening to half a foot of snow and parts of 10 states were in the path of the storm. Forecasters say some areas of Massachusetts could get as much as 30 inches. Rhode Island banned all nonemergency road travel.

Philadelphia, New York City, and parts of the Delmarva Peninsula in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia could get 10 inches or more.for hours on Interstate 95, did not hesitate to get resources at the ready. In Maryland, the governor mobilized the National Guard.
