"Growing up I got teased a lot for my skin," she explained at the start of the caption. "I got called everything you already know.. and Dalmatian. That really got to me when I was little. So much so that I realized I had a bit of disdain for the film as a child.
"Growing up, I never saw anyone like me on TV, billboards or on the runways. I felt like I was the only person in the world like me," she said. After finding success early in her career, she was only motivated to work harder. "The more I did it, the more of a following I gained on social media," she added. "I was getting a lot of love and support and people telling me that I inspired them. So I was like, 'If doing this thing that's just fun for me is inspiring people, then it's a win-win.'
