“Natasha is a three-time WNBA Champion who joins the Wings organization with an impressive WNBA resume, including both extensive and successful playoff experience,” Wings president Greg Bibb said in a statement. “On the court we are adding an all-star caliber player who is one of the premier defenders in the game. Off the court we are adding a veteran who has won on the biggest stage in the biggest moments.
In addition to her defense, she brings needed championship experience to Dallas, where no member of the 2022 roster had been to the WNBA Finals. Howard is a three-time WNBA champion, having won in 2017 with Minnesota and in 2018 and 2020 with Seattle. Her numbers dropped in 2021 as her minutes plummeted from 30 per game to just around 20. She was cut before the 2022 season by the Lynx but found a home in New York. She started 27 games for the Liberty next to Sabrina Ionescu in the backcourt and played some productive basketball.
