Lake Houston Rotary Club golf tournament, raffle raising funds for area charities
Lake Houston Rotary Club members and the public will gather at Robbins Chevrolet in Humble at noon, Saturday, May 13 to announce the winner of the 2023 Corvette C8 Stingray Coupe 1LT they’re raffling off with $100 tickets. The money is distributed to area charities and scholarships for Humble ISD students.Dr. Bob Cassidy is blunt when it comes to membership in his beloved Lake Houston Rotary Club.
A little more than a week later, they will gather again at Robbins Chevrolet in Humble on Saturday, May 13, to announce the winner of the 2023 Corvette C8 Stingray Coupe 1LT they’re raffling off with $100 tickets.Cassidy was one of the first dentists in the Kingwood area, opening in 1973. At the time, he said, the new development had less than 700 residents.
He joined the local Rotary Club on Feb. 1, 1974, and 49 years later, he hasn’t missed a single meeting. The club began in 1967 and still has one remaining member from the original group. Lake Houston Rotary President Eric Gomez has been in the club since 2017 and ascended to president last year in June. After nearly seven years, he finds the same conversation as Cassidy going on.
