Venable's Los Angeles office has lost at least 17 more lawyers since Willkie opened up shop

Since then, 17 lawyers have left Venable's LA office, with some revealing they joined Willkie.Willkie Farr & Gallagher just opened a new Los Angeles office, and it's scooping up a slew of new hires from Venable.

Some lawyers that have recently left Venable are still unaccounted for, including Paul Bernstein, a business lawyer who was the vice-chair of Venable's entertainment practice, and Thomas Baxter, who worked on deals for the actor Ryan Reynolds and former MGM CEO Gary Barber.

Bakewell, another courtroom lawyer, has appeared in lawsuits on behalf of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which successfully sued tothe sale of four old Emmys, and actor Marlon Wayans, whom he represented with others at Venable.
