After falling to No. 33 in the 2023 draft, Levis made his NFL debut on Sunday for the Tennessee Titans with an impressive first-half showing.
The rookie QB threw two touchdowns and completed 12 of 19 passes for 119 yards while leading the Titans to a 14-3 halftime lead. With 2:36 remaining in the first quarter and the Titans right around midfield, Levis threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins to give his team a 7-3 lead.
The play electrified the crowd, which had given Levis a big roar when he was introduced pregame, according to theLevis sprinted down the field with his arms out as he went to go celebrate the first NFL TD pass of his career. This time Levis hit Hopkins in the middle of the field for a 16-yard touchdown pass to put the Titans up 14-3.
It was certainly a good sign for the Titans to see Levis and Hopkins already developing a quick connection on the field.Levis started Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons in place of Ryan Tannehill, who was ruled out on Friday due to an ankle injury. Titans coach Mike Vrabel had said during the week that Levis and Malik Willis would both play, but NFL Network reported midweek that LevisThe Kentucky product is the seventh rookie QB to make his debut in the first eight weeks of the season. He joins the likes of Anthony Richardson, C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Aidan O’Connell and Tyson Bagent.
