Why could he fall short this year? It’s the matchup. The Browns pass rush is healthy and ready to be unleashed against the Bengals. Burrow is also coming off a calf injury and missed most of training camp and he might be a little rusty. Last season against the Steelers in Week 1, Burrow, who missed time in camp and the preseason after undergoing an appendectomy, threw for 286 yards in regulation but also turned the ball over four times in the process.
Cincinnati scored opening-quarter touchdowns in nine games last season and opening-quarter points in 11 games, while the Browns did it nine times, including eight of the 11 games started by Jacoby Brissett, which is notable because this offense just didn’t function as well after a rusty Deshaun Watson came back. It should be different with him at the helm this season.
