A wildfire is burning off of Colorado 115 on and along Fort Carson, south of Colorado Springs.
The right lane of the highway is closed between County Road F45 and Barrett Road, about 12 miles north of Florence, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Critical fire weather conditions are expected Wednesday afternoon for parts of the Eastern Plains and the Palmer Divide, according to the National Weather Service, including Kiowa and El Paso counties. Fire departments and agencies working on the fire on Tuesday include: Fremont County, Highway 115, Penrose, and the Southern Colorado Interagency Wildland Fire Team.
