In July, the first Wicked changed its schedule to avoid butting heads with Moana 2, a film from a studio that’s no stranger to musicals.
The schedule change for Wicked 2 is a promising update, putting the film in a slot that has more opportunity and less competition than its previous release date. The only other noteworthy movie coming out November 21, 2025 is a biblical-animated film based on the Old Testament’s King David. The move should bode well for Wicked 2, as it gives the movie an opening weekend unburdened by another potential blockbuster.
