Singer Isaiah Firebrace, who won the eighth season of the TV reality music competition The X Factor Australia in 2016, was chosen to represent Australia in 2017 in Kiev, Ukraine. In 2018, Jessica Mauboy returned to Eurovision as an official entrant in the event in Lisbon, Portugal.In 2019, Kate Miller-Heidke won the inaugural Australian final of Eurovision - Australia Decides which was held on the Gold Coast.
