The Power of Invincibility was introduced as an America's Vote competition. Fans voted for the houseguests that they wanted to see compete for the superpower, which was unleashed by the BB Comic-Verse.
When Matt was trying to decide if he should use the power or not, he only consulted with Cirie. They reasoned that Jag would help them evict Cameron and Red Utley in the future. They need him in the game. They predicted that people would think that Jag saved himself, which is exactly what happened. After Jag was saved, Bowie Jane told him, "Good acting," about how sad he looked when he was leaving the house. However, Jag wasn't acting at all.
By using the power to save Jag, Matt not only may have solidified his relationship with Jag, but he proved to Cirie that he's a man of his word who's loyal to his allies. This will help Matt down the road, as Cirie is a powerful player. After losing his closest ally, Reilly Smedley, Matt needs a new person he can fully trust.Matt Isn’t A Major Target Although Matt had been mentioned as a possible replacement nominee in earlier evictions, he has since been under the radar.
Matt Could’ve Saved The Power For Himself Although there were many reasons why it was smart for Matt to use the Power of Invincibility on Jag, it's possible that it could've been a mistake. Matt could've saved the power for himself since it lasted for two weeks. Although he felt safe, things can turn quickly in the Big Brother house, as he should've realized from Reilly and Hisam Goueli's evictions after their HOH reigns. Hisam's own alliance even turned on him.
