We don’t see a listing of Virgin as materially changing the competitive landscape. As a recently listed company trying to meet prospectus forecasts, its focus will be on profitability rather than market share. We feel the management team would be incentivised to act in a rational manner in capacity and yield management, and that should lead to the benefit of all industry players including Qantas.2022 was a challenging year for gold companies.
