Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, has died aged just 19.
Leandro’s 51-year-old mom, Drena, is the oldest of De Niro’s seven children.
De Niro had adopted Drena in 1976 after he married her mother, Diahnne Abbott. The former couple ended up calling it quits in 1988. In her heartfelt tribute to her son, Drena wrote: “My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. “You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you. I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama.”Leandro’s dad, Carlos Rodriguez, is a Big Apple-based artist and sculptor.
Known as Mare139 in the art world, Rodriguez is best known as being one of the pioneers of subway graffiti.What did Leandro do for a living?The young actor’s most notable film credit was when he appeared alongside his mother in the 2018 flick “A Star Is Born.” In that role, Leandro played the son of Dave Chappelle’s George “Noodles” Stone, who was friends with Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine.Leandro is the son of actress Drena De Niro and New York City-based artist Carlos Rodriguez.
