The World Baseball Classic is returning in March and the White Sox's Tim Anderson, Lance Lynn, Luis Robert, Yoan Moncada, Eloy Jimenez and Reynaldo Lopez are all expected to play for their native countries.
Spring training is always a needed prep for the season, and the upcoming White Sox camp is going to be even more important.
Back for the first time since 2017 after a two-year delay caused by COVID-19, the WBC will occupy a big chunk of March and the Sox will be well represented in the 20-team pool."I'm going to enjoy the moment, for sure," said Anderson, who injured his finger during an Aug. 6 game at Texas and missed the rest of the season."I'm definitely going to enjoy the moment to be among some of the greats in the game.
At the winter meetings in early December, Grifol was asked about the challenges of having players missing spring training to play in the WBC.
