National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said he expects the number of Americans killed in Hamas and Israel's ongoing war to rise.
"I think we all need to be prepared for the fact that those numbers are going to increase again today in terms of Americans who are dead and potentially even those Americans who are missing," Kirby said. "What we're focused on is making sure that Israel has the tools and capabilities it needs to go after these Hamas terrorists and defend themselves in these early days," Kirby said.
