As the title suggests, it is all about Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, and the show is set in France. The AMC post-apocalyptic series, which premiered on September 10, 2023, picks up from where The Walking Dead series finale left off regarding Daryl's character.
The specific towns included in Daryl's long journey from the south of France to the north are unknown. However, the producers wanted to take advantage of as much of what the country had to offer as possible, resulting in breathtaking shots of landscapes in France. Of course, some CGI was used to ensure that the sequences encapsulated the feeling of a zombie-ridden, post-apocalyptic world, but the cast and crew mainly filmed on location for these scenes in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon trailer showed Laurent looking up at the Eiffel Tower and Daryl cruising down the Seine River, so fans know that the show will feature plenty of famous landmarks in the background throughout the six episodes. But, according to Reedus, the cast and crew were able to film some scenes inside these iconic spots, like the Louvre. Only time will tell what goes down inside the world-famous museum in the spinoff, though.
The Panthéon is a monument built in the late 1700s and located in the Latin Quarter atop the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève in the center of the Place du Panthéon. The building is a mausoleum for esteemed French citizens. However, it was initially conceived as a church dedicated to Paris's patron saint, Saint Genevieve, before switching purposes during the French Revolution.
