Where to celebrate Pride Month 2022 in San Antonio
After two years of virtual celebrations, the Pride Bigger Than Texas festival, seen here in 2019, returns to Crockett Park this month.June is Pride Month, a time to honor and celebrate the LGBTQ community in commemoration of the Stonewall Uprising in 1969.
After two years of virtual celebrations because of the pandemic, Pride San Antonio is going all out this year with Pride Week, which will include a kickoff event at the San Antonio Zoo and a finale at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Jason Poindexter, the group’s parade director, said Pride Week was modeled after DreamWeek to the keep the celebration going as the anniversary of Stonewall approached at the month’s end.
This event will honor members of the LGBTQ community who have empowered others and organized to support related causes. Ticket sales and other donations will go toward supporting the Pride Center.Night Out at the Zoo:
