The 49ers started the second half of their season strong Sunday night withover the Los Angeles Chargers. They are now 5-4, just one game behind the Seahawks for the NFC West lead.
The Niners, despite trailing throughout, stuck to their game plan and racked up 41 rushing attempts. Though they only gained 157 yards on the ground, they wore down the Chargers’ defenders, and the clock, when it mattered most. Jimmy Garoppolo also ran for a score on a third-down sneak from the 1-yard line, in addition to his 240-yard passing performance, completing 19 of 28 attempts.On the defensive shutout in the second half:
