The average age of new Queensland mothers has shifted, and more women are having babies at a different time in their lives.
Queensland’s population is booming as people flock to the Sunshine State, but the birth rate continues to drop.
In 2021, more than one in five Queensland women who gave birth were 35 or over, whereas 10 years earlier, that figure was 16.3 per cent.
