ILOILO CITY – The Department of Agriculture has allocated P635.6-million worth of fertilizer discount vouchers for rice farmers across Western Visayas who planted palay during the 2022-2023 dry cropping season.
THE Department of Agriculture is distributing fertilizer discount vouchers to rice farmers across Western Visayas region. Ruth Torreverde, DA-6 focal person for rice program, said farmers can receive P6,600 per hectare in Torreverde said this helps farmers as inadequate nitrogen fertilizer application limits the attainment of the potential of the region to increase its palay yield and production.Iloilo province had the biggest FDV allocation in Western Visayas with P252 million. Negros Occidental received P141 million, Capiz, P118 million, Antique, P67 million, and Aklan, P56 million.
Since the printing of the vouchers last month, DA-6 has been reminding farmers to get their FDVs in one of the 165 agency-accredited fertilizer merchants across the region.
