Western United, playing in their first ever A-League Women's season, will compete for the big prize after reaching the grand final with a 1-0 win over Sydney FC.

Sydney will play off with Melbourne Victory next Saturday to get there, and they will need to be firing on all cylinders if they are to have the chance to avenge Western. Princess Ibini, Mackenzie Hawkesby and American forward Madison Haley all fluffed good chances or were denied by Western goalkeeper Hillary Beall.
