The participants of KEMBARA 1 with Deepika Singh from FABC and Clare Westwood, Chairperson of the Episcopal Regional Creation Justice Commission“The pastoral ministry to migrants and itinerants is not one that is attractive to our church members,” said Archbishop John Wong in a written message to 50 delegates from all parishes, during a recent formation programme titled KEMBARA 1.
“In your ministry, you may be misunderstood, being seen as less patriotic, and many other negative perceptions. The programme, the first since the inception of ACMI two years ago, was aimed at gathering members from all parishes who are involved in the parish migrant ministry, to share and listen to the joys and sorrows of the migrants, to discuss and gather feedback from parishes, together with sessions by representatives from the migrant communities, and other aspects of the migrant ministry.
