KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun continued their great run in the men’s doubles in the Malaysian Open by storming into the semi-finals. Wei Chong-Kai Wun were on top form as they brushed past world No. 29 French brothers Toma Junior Popov-Christo Popov 21-15, 21-11 at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Friday .
The world No. 14 pair will play China’s world No. 18 Chen Boyang-Liu Yi on Saturday for a place in the final.“We stayed sharp and attacked during the first three shots and this helped us to win today,” said Wei Chong.Kai Wun said: “We are happy that we could translate what we have been preparing in training in the matches so far.Earlier, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei also made it the semi-finals in the mixed doubles event.
