It's hard to believe there was anyone Sir Michael Parkinson hadn't spoken to during his glittering decades-long media career — but last year, he said there was one more interview he'd like to do.
During an interview last year — his last on broadcast television — the Yorkshireman said there was one man he'd still like to speak to.
Appearances from celebrities like actors, comedians and sports stars made up a large chunk of Parkinson's guests, but he often found a way to make the subject matter serious. Parkinson has previously listed singer Frank Sinatra and cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman as being among people he'd like to have interviewed.Australians were among Parkinson's favourite interview subjects on his famous chat show, and he also worked for several networks 'Down Under', including the ABC, during his five-decade television career.
"Mr Keating wasn't being disloyal, he was merely reaching out in friendly gesture, as one human being to another," Parkinson said.
