The Flash director Andy Muschietti explains why TV's Barry Allen, Grant Gustin, does not have a cameo in the movie. Ezra Miller stars as Barry Allen, with The Flash's story loosely adapting the comic book event known as Flashpoint. The film sees Miller's Flash traverse the multiverse and meet different characters from DC's live-action history, with some cameos said to be kept under wraps.
Of course, as I said before the list of cameos…was huge. So obviously we played with the idea of including DC characters from TV, but we just had to pick.
