KUALA LUMPUR: A Perikatan Nasional MP asked if the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister had his own “way” of promoting Malaysian tourism by promoting the culture of “intoxication and dancing publicly”.
TANJUNG MALIM: The Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change Ministry will continue to assess whether there is a need to proceed with the drafting of the proposed Bill on Transboundary Haze to address the haze crisis in the country.
"Based on the experiences of other countries, such as Singapore, we know there are several constraints when implementing such legislation. The formulation of a Bill on Transboundary Haze was first proposed by the Ministry during the Pakatan Harapan administration in 2018 but was not pursued under the Environment Ministry when Perikatan Nasional took over.
The minister said haze was a regular topic of discussion at the annual sub-regional Asean meetings, but these discussions have not been effective in resolving the issue of transboundary haze.
