Water purifier agent fined RM10K for smoking on KL-KK flight

Kota Kinabalu: . Muhammad Afiq Zakwan Zakaria, 33, pleaded guilty before High Court Senior Assistant Registrar Mohammad Azeem Mohd Ridzo, who sat as a magistrate, to committing the offence at 1 am on Nov 6. From Temerloh, Pahang, Afiq was charged under Regulation 100 of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016, which provides for a fine of up to RM25,000 or a jail term of up to a year or both on conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor DK Afiqah Alya @ Tinkerbell PG Johari, informed the court that on the said day, senior cabin crew Irnawati Japar was informed by a colleague about cigarette smoke during the flight.
