'She thought it was actually a cool thing to say and it's not,' the man who recorded the video said.

Maryland police are investigating a video that was posted to social media this week showing a white officer using a racial slur while addressing a group of black men.

As the interaction continued, one white female officer was heard using the n-word at the men. As shown in bodycam footage, she said: “Hey, you want to get out of here fast, right? So if we have more people, y'all n****** been trying to something.” The officer then claimed she had been mimicking the men’s language, saying: “What I am doing is repeating your words.”

In response to the video, Montgomery County police apologized and said it takes allegations of racial discrimination seriously. It confirmed the incident remains under investigation. “We are committed to serving all members of the community in a fair, impartial, and non-discriminatory manner at all times,” police also said in a statement, published online yesterday.
