The stern action of the authorities in Lahad Datu, Sabah against illegal immigrants there earned praise from Malaysians recently.
This is after a video went viral on TikTok, depicting the authorities, believed to be the Malaysian Immigration Department , apprehending a girl who was dangerously asking for alms from road users at a traffic light junction.Shared by @jr7engineering, the video has garnered over 568,200 views and 12,600 likes as of the time of writing.
The camera then pans to the left to reveal a girl, believed to be an illegal immigrant, running from another enforcement personnel before slowing down and following his instructions. One commenter said that many illegal immigrants are doing the same thing too at traffic lights in Selangor.
