Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) will hold another press conference Monday afternoon in Bronson, Florida, ahead of Tropical Storm Idalia.
Idalia is expected to become a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday and reach the Sunshine State on Wednesday. Officials expect the storm to intensify over the next 12 to 18 hours.Evacuations are being issued from Pinellas County to the north central Florida counties. DeSantis has warned residents to prepare for a major weather event by stocking up on supplies, extending a state of emergency across 46 counties.
DeSantis will begin speaking at 3:45 p.m. EDT time at the Levy County Sheriff's Office in Bronson, Florida.
