Goodling's circus grab was monumental in the Mustangs pulling off a 19-16 road win over Trinity.
“Originally the route was supposed to be shorter, but everybody was following me that way,” Goodling said. “So I took it a little deeper than I normally do. I trust [Marcus Quaker], he trusts me. We just went for it and it all worked out in the end.”
The catch was reminiscent of New England Patriots wideout Julian Edelman’s diving grab in Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons, but quarterback Marcus Quaker says he knows he can expect this out of his wideout. “I think Ian doesn’t get enough credit,” Quaker said. “Sometimes I’ll put balls in places that aren’t the greatest, and he’ll still just manage to catch them.
