A crocodile handler has sustained serious leg injuries after a crocodile attacked him during a live show at a crocodile farm.

A crocodile handler was rushed to hospital on Sunday afternoon after being attacked by a crocodile during a live show at Crocodile Creek – a family-owned Nile crocodile farm in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal., Tongaat Operations Centre received a phone call for assistance just before 15h00 from a visitor at Crocodile Creek.During the live show, the handler sustained severe injuries to his leg when the crocodile lashed out after being prodded with a wooden stick.

“While I am happy that the employee managed to escape and is currently stable, we are concerned about the violation of protocol,” he said. “When someone goes into the pond, we require them to have another employee standing by to monitor the situation.” A video capturing the terrifying incident, shared by Rusa, shows the handler being pulled to the ground by the crocodile, before escaping with a noticeable limp.A crocodile handler pokes a Nile crocodile with a stick and escapes with his life.
