A new clip from Disney Cruise Line's epic show Avengers: Quantum Encounter showed Anthony Mackie's Captain America and Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel meeting for the first time. Mackie first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Sam Wilson, whose alter-ego was The Falcon. However, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier sees Wilson taking up Steve Rogers' mantle and becoming the next Captain America. Viewers have not yet seen Mackie as Captain America outside of the miniseries.
Meanwhile, Vellani made her debut as Kamala Khan in the Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel, which premiered on June 8, 2022. In addition to appearing in Ms. Marvel, Vellani is also set to reprise her role in the upcoming film, The Marvels, alongside Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau . Disney cruise ship, the Wish, has been mashing up some Marvel heroes together in their new Avengers: Quantum Encounter attraction.
While it's not canon, the sneak peek of the beginnings of a relationship between Captain America and Ms. Marvel is certainly intriguing. After all, the two share some commonalities, with Wilson facing the challenge of being the first black Captain America and Ms. Marvel taking on the mantle of Marvel's first Muslim superhero. Meanwhile, viewers are likely eager to see the dynamic between the new generation of heroes and the older one.
